The hostettler group is modernising its retail shops at its headquarters in Sursee / LU
Refurbishment of the Yamaha motorcycle showroom and clothing and accessories shop until March 2019
As part of the expansion of the headquarters in Sursee, in 1999 the hostettler group established exhibition and sales rooms covering approximately 3,000 m² for Yamaha motorcycles, its own iXS clothing brand as well as leading clothing and accessory brands. Since 2017 these premises have been managed by its subsidiary hostettler retail ag as a retail shop. The Yamaha motorcycle showroom and the clothing and accessories shop will be completely refurbished as of 1 October 2018 to provide customers with a modern, customer-oriented shopping experience from March 2019 onwards.
Limited shopping and exhibition facilities during the refurbishment
As of 1 October 2018 hostettler retail ag in Sursee will be serving its customers in temporary facilities. A limited selection of clothing and accessories will be available to try on and purchase. However, the display of new motorcycles will be restricted to a few models. On the other hand, the entire range of all brands of second-hand vehicles can be viewed and also workshop operations will continue as usual. The current Yamaha showroom on the ground floor and the clothing and accessories shop on the first floor will be closed during the refurbishment.
Company holidays
The headquarters in Sursee and also the shop of hostettler retail ag will take company holidays between Christmas and New Year. The Sursee site will be closed from Monday, 24.12.2018 (as of midday) until Wednesday, 2.1.2019. The temporary facilities will reopen on Thursday, 3.1.2019.
Planned reopening in March 2019
hostettler retail ag Sursee will welcome its customers in March 2019 after the re-configuration of the premises to its new sales and exhibition areas covering approximately 3,000 m², provided that all the refurbishment works go smoothly. Products will be displayed in an even better setting. Visitors and customers will be offered an impressive shopping experience and provided with efficient customer service.
As part of the refurbishment, the main entrance will also be moved, work carried out to the surroundings and the parking spaces increased.
Largest motorcycle showroom in Switzerland in line with the latest Yamaha shop design concept
A store will be created on the ground floor in line with the latest European Yamaha shop design concept. This will present the entire Yamaha range of models over an area of 1,700 m², including the corresponding original accessories in different colours in three separate worlds of experience called RACE, FEEL, MOVE. In these theme-related collections visitors will find the right products for their sporty, emotional or practical enjoyment of riding.
The blue colour scheme of the RACE area welcomes customers who are racing enthusiasts. Here the models in the Supersport and Off Road Competition categories for sporty road and racing use are presented.
The largest zone, designed in red and called FEEL, displays the Hyper Naked, Sport Touring, Sport Heritage and Adventure models. Yamaha is addressing customers who are passionate about using their motorbikes for enjoyable short trips as well as for exciting weekend rides and longer holiday journeys.

Everything is new – from the colour-matched walls and ceiling design, the furniture and the energy-efficient LED lighting to the high quality floor tiles. The interior decoration is set off with light wooden furniture, which creates a warm, pleasant atmosphere and reflects Japanese culture.
The sub-divisions into display islands with easily visible zone descriptions and pathways make it easy for visitors to find their way around. The individual areas are fitted with modern multimedia systems. Videos and picture galleries about products, events and the latest news are shown on flat screen displays.
A so-called Core serves as a reception area to advise customers. This Core is a cube fitted with large touch screens. Customers can either configure their dream vehicle on these screens by themselves or with a customer advisor and assess it in true-to life 3D. The finished vehicle configuration can be saved and sent. This opens up new opportunities for individual and interactive brand communication between manufacturer, dealers and customers.
Clothing and accessories shop with own iXS brand as well as leading clothing and accessory brands
With the re-design of the motorbike clothing and accessories shop covering 900 m² on the first floor, the presentation of goods will be improved and this will optimise customer service.
Thanks to its clearly structured themed areas, the new shop offers a straightforward overview and invites people to spend time there on the various seating arrangements. Extensive display areas make it possible to discover the wide range of products from leading brands of motorcycle and leisure clothing from head to toe, helmets as well as technical accessories. The Swiss iXS brand offers a comprehensive range of sizes with its “Perfect Fit” size selection.
A sophisticated double wall system enables the most popular items to be stored directly close at hand and this substantially reduces waiting times for customers.
