The cloudless sky and spring-like temperatures provided the perfect setting for the successful opening weekend. They attracted a large number of motorcycle fans from all over Switzerland who appeared on both days, usually arriving on two wheels. They had their first look at the newly designed showroom and sales premises of hostettler retail ag, which runs the endcustomer business within the hostettler group. The work gave life to one of the largest and most modern Yamaha showrooms in Europe. The impressive area of nearly 3000 m² includes a renovated “Fashion and Accessories Store”, which offers clothing and accessories from hostettler’s iXS brand as well as other top brands in the business. Hundreds of visitors were able to benefit from attractive opening offers and kitted themselves out with new motorcycle equipment from head to toe.
Marvel, experience, shop in the “largest Swiss biker’s world”
The showroom was created in line with Yamaha’s corporate design, which guarantees a corresponding atmosphere and brand-typical customer experience. Customers will be inspired by the spacious showroom and shopping area with the latest motorcycle models and will be entertained in parallel by infotainment on large TV screens, which are controlled centrally in terms of content by Yamaha Europe. People can compile their dream motorcycle individually with original accessories on the latest configurator. “Our customers can look forward to the latest infrastructure, a comprehensive range of vehicles, clothing and accessories as well as a very special experience. We are proud that we can describe ourselves as the operator of the largest Swiss biker’s world”, says co-owner Peter Hostettler, overwhelmed by the lively crowd of visitors. Special mention should be made of the “Hall of Fame” with a lot of interesting information on the history of the hostettler group and people who have helped to shape it.
Meet and greet with the racers Randy Krummenacher and Horst Saiger
Motorsport fans had the opportunity at the Open Weekend to get in touch with Randy Krummenacher, the current leader of the World Supersport Championships, and Horst Saiger, road racer and top ranked participant at the TT – Isle of Man, and ask for autographs and selfies. On the circuits, these two exceptional athletes rely on the power of their Yamaha’s and hostettler’s iXS brand protection equipment.
As part of the European MT-Tour, whose first stage was the Open Weekend in Sursee, visitors could experience for themselves the qualities of the Yamaha Hyper Naked models on a test ride. The impressive MT-Truck and the large number of MT owners who had arrived on their motorcycles provided a special setting for all of this.
Peter Hostettler summarised the event with satisfaction: “We have invested our hearts and souls as well as a large number of resources in updating our site in Sursee. Now we can celebrate the grand opening together with the visitors. We will continue to go full speed ahead and are looking forward to a successful start to the motorcycle season.”
The Open Weekend was rounded off with a major competition with 50 exceptional prizes, the first prize being a Yamaha MT-07. Refreshments were provided by the stylish Faster Sons Bar in the Yamaha showroom and the cosy chalet.
