Pulses start racing in the corporate world when “Handelszeitung” – the leading Swiss business newspaper – joins with “Le Temps”, its counterpart in French-speaking Switzerland, to publish the “Best employers” ranking. For many years, this survey has been regarded as the key indicator of how companies are perceived by their own employees. Thousands of employees in a total of 1,500 companies throughout the country answer detailed questions to provide input for this representative study.
Fantastic quantum leap for the hostettler group
The results of the “Best employer of 2021” survey are extremely encouraging for the hostettler group. For the first time ever, the group secured a podium position in the “Automotive and vehicle manufacturing” category, behind employers who are widely known in the industry. This achievement comes after hostettler’s eighth position in the previous year.
The hostettler group made a gigantic leap from 135th position (in 2020) to come 25th in the overall nationwide ranking. What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that only 250 of the total of 1,500 companies surveyed made it onto the final shortlist.
Sound growth and job security
Ornella Sassano, the hostettler group’s Head of HR, identifies several factors as key reasons for this year-on-year leap in its ranking. These include the hostettler group’s positive and future-oriented development, coupled with another year of successful growth in 2020. “The steps we took to deal with the coronavirus pandemic, and the way we communicated them, also met with a very favourable reception from our employees.” The hostettler group is perceived as a secure and reliable employer, she adds. “We’ve also made further improvements to our conditions of employment, our communication within the company and with the outside world, and to several of our work processes.”
